Put the all the success of 2007 aside, each BIGBANG members showed their individual talent throughout the solo projects. SEUNGRI successfully made his musical debut, and it’s even played in Japan. Lead vocal TAEYANG released his solo album, and praised by both critics and public. DAESUNG is also appearing as a host of TV shows, and released his digital single.
T.O.P featured in various artists’ songs including GUMMY, Um, Jung Hwa and ZIA and contributed in making them hit. Through those projects T.O.P could strengthen his rapper image to public. G-DRAGON, as a producer of BIGBANG, was preparing BIGBANG’s 3rd mini album by communicating with DAISHI DANCE and NO BRAIN.
Sometimes it seems hard to mix these 5 members as one, but BIGBANG creates maximum synergy effect once they are together. Their individual activities were good chances for them to grow one more level up, and show you stronger explosion through this 3rd mini, ‘STAND UP’.
First single of the album, "하루하루 (Day By Day)" is co-composed by G-DRAGON and Shibuya Kei’s most wanted DAISHI DANCE. On the DAISHI DANCE’s produced emotional and cutting edge track, G-DRAGON put his addictive melody lines. BIGBANG also collaborated with Punk Rock band NO Brain, and TOP who loves bossa nova music co-wrote bossa nova sound “착한사람 (A Good Man)” with KUSH. The album shows BIGBANG’s wide music spectrum by collaboration with other genre’s musicians.
