OAO is perfect mixture of the element of Korean traditional melody and Miami beat. It’s a pop dance song makes you dance once you hear it. MOOGADANG is pursuing their career to help people having fun and dancing. OAO is very different from the music that YG Ent. has done so far. It’s more close to the music that DJ DOC or PSY is doing.
The reason why MOOGADANG has come up with different type of music than other artists in YG is that 45RPM and REDROC – who are originally from Buddha Sound – participated in track production and here is a behind story of OAO.
Mr. YANG, HYUN SUK who was bored of the fact that sad ballad song dominates the summer music scene gathered all the YG Underground artist in one place one day and asked them to make a dance party song that people truly can enjoy their summer time.
On the sudden request of Mr. YG, a group of 10 artists put their own album production aside, and they spent a week in a studio solely for the production of MOOGADANG’s single. After spent an unsatisfied week, they started to drink and party in the studio and were inspired of the song “오에오 (OAO)”.
